Jonathan gumbs editorial photographer

ABOUT ME

My name is Jonathan Gumbs, professionally known as J.Austin Pro (JAPro), UK-based photographer and creative director raised in Anguilla. My work spans across editorial, fashion and lifestyle photography, shaped by a cross-cultural perspective and a refined editorial sensibility.

What began as a passion for capturing authentic moments has evolved into a thoughtful, editorial-led commercial approach. I focus on balancing clean composition, intentional lighting, and natural expression to create visuals that feel honest, elevated, and timeless.

With a career spanning over ten years, I have mastered the art of capturing captivating moments, producing work that is visually striking. My keen eye and attention to detail have earned me widespread acclaim, allowing me to collaborate seamlessly with a diverse range of models and industry artists. My portfolio boasts impressive versatility, showcasing my ability to adapt my unique style to a variety of creative endeavors.

Influenced by my Caribbean roots and contemporary fashion culture, I approach each project with a strong sense of storytelling and purpose. I work closely with brands, creatives, and businesses to produce visuals that communicates identity, emotion, and clarity and not just aesthetics.

Beyond the camera, I am committed to contributing to the creative community through collaboration and mentorship. Sharing knowledge, supporting emerging creatives, and building meaningful creative relationships are all integral to how I work and what I stand for.

The Process

A collage of fashion and lifestyle mood boards showing various clothing patterns, colors, fabrics, and style themes labeled French Rivera, Amalfi Coast, Nice, Monte Carlo, and Montenegro, with descriptions of fabric types, colors, and style feelings.

What sets my work apart isn’t just the techniques I use, it is the intention behind every frame. I take the time to understand your story, explore creative possibilities and craft imagery that communicates purpose at every stage.

What began as a high-school project has grown into a thoughtful, intentional practice. While I am proud of what I’ve accomplished, I am even more excited about what is ahead!

My approach is collaborative and story-driven. Whether I am in a studio or on location, the goal is always to create work that feels authentic and commercial.
